Radio
Apac Women's Forum (RAWF) is a radio production group formed
by the female listeners of Radio Apac. It is managed and run
by the women themselves while the radio program and related
media activities are conducted by the members of the group.
RAWF
was initiated in October 2000 after the results of the recommendations
of Radio Apac sector workshop held at the Parish Hall in Apac.
Its main objective was to offer a platform where the women
in the Apac community could access or share information and
discuss issues affecting their lives in their everyday lives.
RAWF carries
out several activities to enhance the chances of achieving
their objectives and improving on what they have already achieved.
All of these activities are sponsored through donations and
self-help projects by the organization.
The organization
is recognized by the local government. RAWF works hand in
hand with other organizations in the country with closely
related objectives. These organizations help RAWF by introducing
them to the already-existing women's organizations in the
country. These organizations include:
- UWESO

-
Women Living with HIV/AIDS
-
Women With Disabilities
-
WOUGNET
-
Community Liaison Office

Due to
several hardships and other factors faced by the organization,
RAWF has not extended its services and projects to the whole
of its designated region. Plans are underway to extend its
coverage to other sub-counties in the area. Major hardships
include lack/poor transportation and/or lack of funding
For detailed reports on projects or any specific
questions, please contact us via
